New job, new showreel

Well. I’ve been putting this update for about a week. Not really sure why... just been busy with other things I guess. Last Friday I had a job interview. Last Friday evening I had a phone call from the people I had an interview with and they offered me the job.

A week this coming Monday I start working at the local theatre as an Operations Assistant. I’m really looking forward to this job, it sounds like a lot of fun. I shall keep you up to date.

I have also spent a little bit of time this week putting the finishing touches to the new version of my Show Reel. Check it out on the front page of my web site if you haven’t done so already.

Waiting to hear...

It seems a lot of time these days I am spending waiting to hear from people. I have been applying for jobs left, right and centre, and then I never hear from them again... or worse... I get the e-mail everyone hates. Thank you for trying, you were wonderful but we have had a million other people and every single one of them is a lot better then you could ever be so we’re taking them on.

The other side is even more tense. Last week I had a phone call, exactly a week ago today, saying that a company in London had read my CV, and asking if I would come in for a job interview, either that day or the following day. I decided that day would look a lot better, why put of to tomorrow that which you can do today, so I got ready and headed to the train station. I had what I think was a good interview, and was told that I would hear from them by the end of the week. I’m still waiting.

Anyway, major ranting aside, last week was hectic. This week looks boringly empty on the iCal on my Macbook. Saturday was the one year reunion of Zavvi. A year since we closed. I still miss the days we spent together, far too few though they were, I enjoyed the vast majority of them, and those that were tarnished were not caused by my colleagues. I can still remember getting the text message saying the store was closed, that the lawyer was there. I can still remember the taste of the apple sour shot I had, the only alcoholic drink I have ever finished, the Zavvi blood we shared the night the store was finally put to rest. And before I start blubbering in internet form, I think it is time to wrap this post up.
